What’s the big IDIA?

IDIA stands for “I Do It All” and our goal is to bring your home dreams and ideas to life, no matter how big or small. With over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, we bring skill, expertise, creativity and integrity to every project we take on.

Who are we?

Meet Henry

Henry is the face, and when you get down to it, the hands of IDIA. Our general contractor/builder extraordinaire, Henry is the one putting in the hands-on work in every IDIA project.

Henry has worked in the construction industry for over 20 years, starting with working summers with his dad’s company as just a teenager. In those years, Henry gained a wide variety of experience doing everything from basic handyman fixes to full remodel projects. He’s worked in apartment buildings, commercial properties, residential properties and even on a boat! You name it, he’s done it.

As a true artist and woodworker, Henry finds joy in building beautiful custom pieces and loves using his experience to better other people’s home spaces. He’s got a knack for solving problems with outside of the box thinking and his creativity is such an asset. He’s always saying, “Yes, I can do that, but do you know what would make it even better…?”

In his spare time, Henry likes to spend time with his family and kids, experiments with different delicious recipes (you should taste this guy’s pretzel bites!) and rocks out as the lead singer of a band called Unicorn.

Meet Ali

If Henry is the face and hands, then Ali is the voice of IDIA (why yes, it is she behind the words on your screen 😊). The wife of our main guy, Henry, Ali’s role at IDIA started as simple bookkeeping, but has grown into much more. Administrator and designer, Ali makes sure all the ducks are in a row and that clients are kept in the loop. When it comes to bigger projects, Ali is along for the ride helping to work with clients to curate an overall project design as well as selection of final finishes.

Ali doesn’t come from a background in construction, but has over 10 years of experience in project, program and event coordination. Currently she works full time as a stay-at-home mom, while also running her own wedding planning business and admin at IDIA. Managing details is her strongest suit, and those skills lend themselves well to bigger home projects.

When not working one of her many different jobs, Ali loves to read, run and sing karaoke with her BFF husband.

Dynamic Duo

When you work with IDIA, you sign on working with both members of this little team. Ali and Henry are truly yin and yang and together can bring the whole picture of IDIA and your home dreams to life.

Most of the time if you are communicating via email, you’ll be talking to Ali (and trust us, you’ll know the difference when you get a Henry reply!), but Henry will be the one swinging the hammer and making a mess only to make everything better than you could have dreamed!

As native-born Minnesotans, we love connecting with people in our community here in the Twin Cities and especially love getting excited with you about your home! We can’t wait to meet you and hear all about your ideas!
